We’d like to thank Georgia, Tillie, and friends for this award. I am so thrilled to have gotten it! And I can’t believe the Woman almost forgot to post it today on Thankful Thursday when everyone is supposed to be thankful.

Liebster” means dear, dearest, favorite or beloved in German. Why yes, I can see you. This here is my office. Well there’s a litter box in her so draw your own conclusions.

And the day this was taken, it was cold out. I mean snowing cold. The Woman wanted me to come out and explore. Yeah right. You can see that I’m not exactly running to her can’t you? This was as close as I wanted to get. And I was staying out of the draft she was letting in.

Fortunately now it’s just raining again. Like always. But then this is Seattle. How would people know they were in Seattle if it didn’t rain?

Did you know next month is Cat Appreciation Month? Yep. I’m hoping to be more appreciated, though I have no doubt my hopes will be crushed. As March is my birthday month I’m thinking it should be Chey appreciation month.

Tabby Tuesday

Do I look a little annoyed in this photo? Well look below at what I have to put up with. It’s bad enough he shares my cat tree but he is sharing my Tabby Tuesday. The other day I was sitting on the perch above his and I had a fur ball because Mama has not been good about brushing me like she should be. Anyway I started yakking and you know how sometimes you spit up a little before the furball comes out? Well that happened and it landed on Ichiro so he looked up at me startled and leaped off the cat tree as I yakked up the furball.

It would have served him right if the furball had landed on him, don’t you think? Especially after what he did to me this morning.

I was in the bathroom with Mama and so was he. And he got to close to me so I looked him in the eye and he started playing with the door like he does. I wanted to go out but he was sitting in front of the open area of the door. I glared at him strongly. And I started to walk through. He swatted at me!!! Can you imagine? Well I stopped right there and looked him in the eye. He backed up. So I walked forward and cornered him while he sat there starting at me. Then I turned and sauntered through the door. It is the only way to handle a boy.

Mancat Meezer Monday

Well here I am cuddling with Chey. I like to do that sometimes. Sometimes she even lets me. Mom had to get a photo because we were so nice and snuggled and I wasn’t even trying to sit on her or anything. I mean I don’t always want to sit on her head. Just mostly. Is it my fault she has a comfy head?

I am still talking at night but it is later in the wee hours of the morning now. I mean if Mom didn’t want to sleep past 4:30 it wouldn’t be a problem. I mean isn’t that the time when you should start to play too?!

Sunday Guest Star: Laila and Minchie

It was a tough one this week. I wasn’t anywhere famous, but with help from Cory, who managed to locate the state and perhaps a human who is spending too much time on Facebook, Laila and Minchie managed to puzzle this one out. They said, “Chey, are you at the North Bend, WA public library?” Why indeed I was. This is actually the old facade and they just finished re-doing the outside. This was last summer before we started all the moves. Notice the sunshine?

Anyway, we don’t get up there too much any more but who knows? Duvall has a library too! And that’s very close to us! And the sun might shine again… and I know that always fools you when I’m in the Seattle area and there’s sun…

The Woman may actually take a few photos around here if the sun ever shows up again. You know she’s dying to take that new camera outside–er farther than the end of the driveway to show the house in snow…

So here I am with an older picture from when DMM’s person was here. Look there I am with Flat Daisy Mae Maus! Cool huh? I was just rolling around with excitement. I particularly liked that her person thought I was tiny! Those of you who know how picked on I am can appreciate that I am sure.

This last week was cold. My tail was so cold it almost fell off. Really. The Woman who always has cold hands touched it and it was icy to her touch so imagine how it felt to me, who is normally warm! I will say that she was kind enough to use her cold hands to warm it back to a normal chill rather than a tail-cicle. The heat, as Gemini and Ichiro have said is back on and now I can stretch out and relax again. Of course, tonight we have wind (again) so I hope we don’t lose power for another day again soon. I get too cold.

Tabby Tuesday

This is my “I am enjoying rubbing my face in the nip” face. It is from the box we got from Paws and Effect. It is very good nip! Ichiro may have taken the nip pickle but I like the real thing!

We are getting back into the swing of life after the snow. It started last Sunday and then it snowed on Monday and again on Tuesday. But on Tuesday Dad went to work anyway because he had missed the day before. Then it snowed all day Wednesday and it was supposed to rain on Thursday, but we got freezing rain for a few hours and then it turned back to snow. So then no one could go anywhere! On Friday, Momma woke up and there was no power and it was cold. And you still couldn’t go many places because it was raining but there was still lots of snow and ice on the road and we live on a big hill.

So they froze for awhile and then they went out and got a few groceries from the local store. They didn’t have lights either so nice clerks were helping people with flashlights. And they had emergency lights so you could see a little bit! One of the three main roads out of town was closed because of downed trees so they came back home and piled on blankets.

Fortunately the power came back on around midnight or so, although the power company had estimated about 5 AM. I was very glad because I was getting chilled. I do not like that. Poor Chey had a very cold tail. Momma was worried about her cold tail! She did not worry about my cold tail! Just because I am floofy does not mean I do not get cold.

But then it rained and rained some more and although we had wind, we did not have any more downed trees. In fact, we were surprised that we have not heard about floods yet. This is good as the valley floods all the time. After a week like that you can see why I need some nip!

Mancat Meezer Monday

Okay, so this is an older photo. It’s from when Daisy Mae Maus and the Feline Americans and their human came to visit me! I’m showing off what a handsome guy I am. You can’t see him, but Skeezix is there too making sure I do the catwalk thing just so. He said I nailed it. Of course then he said I could go right to fashion modeling and I found out that meant modeling clothes! I’m not sure about that. I was kind of relieved when Mom and DMM’s human left and went to lunch and Skeezix couldn’t like think up a great outfit for me.

I’m still talking at night but I was getting better. I started at 4 or 5 in the morning and was doing the normal “Hi, I’m a cat and now I’m awake and I think you should be too” stuff so that Mom just closed the bedroom door and Chey and Gemini and I would run around and do cat stuff until it was time for them to get up.

But then, the power went out in the middle of the night and I got scared and I haven’t been the same since. Don’t tell anyone I’m kind of afraid of the dark. Chey laughs at me for that.

Oh and happy Year of the Dragon!!!!
