Thankful Thursday

The Shelter the Woman volunteers at is in the Animal Rescue Site’s contest to win a grant of $10,000.  That can help a lot of cats!  We hope you will help by clicking for us.  You can do so daily–but even just once would be a big help if you don’t live in Washington State!  You can click here and if nothing comes up, enter WA for state and Purrfect Pals for the organization!  Gemini and I are watching the tabulations very carefully to make sure that we stay ahead! We are thankful to have such nice friends!

What’s Up Wednesday

Gemini talked a little about why the Woman wanted another cat.   When we had Georgia, while neither Gemini nor I was friendly we weren’t as akitish. Sometimes strangers would see a tabby tail from a distance and I would walk around just our of reach. Now you see a Siamese from a great distance (or not at all) and you never see a puffy cat.    Georgia was a very calming influence. It is getting so that we do not even want the Male to feed us.   When he does, we sit on the Woman and ignore him–this would never have happeend with Georgia.  The Woman is hoping that an older calm and brave cat will pull us out of our shells a little so we are not quite so tightly bonded just to her.   That way when she is gone on vacation (and the Male likes LONG vacations) we will get attention from the pet sitter (at least I will) and won’t be so spooky.  Also, we will actually allow the Male to feed us!

Alas the Woman couldn’t go last night because there were no adoption counselors there.   They won’t have anyone until Friday but the Male is usually not home early on Friday so they probably won’t get to meet her until next Saturday (assuming someone doesn’t adopt her right away).

Good luck to them I think.

Tabby Tuesday

It was a very long day.  Dad got up to go to work and was gone by 8.  Then he didn’t come home until 8 that night!  That is a lot of sleeps. He had stuff to do all day.   I am glad I do not work.

At any rate that means they did not go to meet the Meezer that Momma likes.  I am not sure I want another meezer around. I like my space.

See! I am yelling at Momma that she should not get a meezer like Chey to come here!  I know that Momma thinks it will just make me calmer and less afraid but I like my life NOW.  I can’t help it everything scares me.   I just go and hide. What’s wrong with that?

Mystery Meezer Monday

This was one of the photo shoots that I was graciously doing for the Woman. I was playing with my red toy while she tried to get a mysteriously underexposed photo.  This one is way too underexposed to be fun but she liked the look on my face.

I think I look like a young cat, don’t you?

Rumor has it she is talking to her pet organization about another Siamese she met over the weekend… If it approves the Male I might get a sister.  Of course, any good meezer would never approve the Male so I shouldn’t worry much.

Sunday Guest Star: Milo and Alfie

Well this looked like it might be a difficult one.  But instead, Milo and Alfie found me right away, “We know where you are!

Address: Stever Hill Road, Spencertown, NY
Directions: Taconic Parkway to Route 203 exit at Chatham. Head south, turn right onto Stever Hill Road. Sculptures are at the end of the road.

We are THRILLED!!!!!!!!!!!”

We were surprised that of all the cats, Milo and Alfie who live in England knew!  I was out visiting The Meezers in NY.  Milo and Alfie said, “Mom and Dad know NY like the back of their hands. They got married in the beautiful Victorian presbytarian church on 5th Avenue NYC. And have spent much time there in NYC.”

So that’s why they knew it!

Simba also seemed to know where I was. Perhaps he too has been visiting the Meezers.  I think I understand why Sammy is always so worried about aliens if they see this every time they go visit their dad.

The boys said, “that big head scares the poop out of us efurrytime we go to visit our daddy.”

We would like to thank the Meezers and their person for the use of their photo and giving us the location!

Find Chey Friday

Wow.  Finally a place to nap. I hope this guy doesn’t decide to just get up.  Then I’d really have to find my way home.   If anyone can tell me the way before he moves, I’d appreciate it. I hate to be beholden to them and how they apologize if they move before you are ready, you know?

Carnival of the Cats

Thankful Thursday

I am so thankful for all the support I recieved yesterday over my need to be photographed with ham.  You know a facebook page to get 1 million for Chey to have her own ham sounds like a plan. Now I just need my own facebook page for that.  The Woman seems disinclined to start one.

I am also thankful for the cat who said they liked my darker, moodier photos than the flashy ones. I do too.  I mean that flash gets in my eyes. I think she should just use the flash on Gemini.

It’s a fair compromise, don’t you think?

What’s Up Wednesday

Well the Woman got a new flash for her camera. It’s much larger. I find the light over stimulating. Perhaps that is why she trys to catch me in the dark with special light.   At any rate, she is having fun playing with it.   She is getting some more compact flash cards for her camera and a spare battery.   She’s quite getting into this photography thing.

Of course, with a model like me, how can she not?  This photo wasn’t all that clear but she didn’t want to toss everything so you will have to put up with a blurry photo of me. I thought it in poor taste that she had the behind of the stuffed dog behind me in so many (but fortunately she thought it was in poor taste as well and tossed those…)

She has been talking about a toy for me to pose with. I am all about toys.  I just wish she would pose me with ham.

Tabby Tuesday

This week I did not wake Momma up as much.  I only did it a little bit.   She did not have to lock me outside (where I would have to mew).

I did get furminated this week and now my furs are thin. Momma can feel it when she over furminates me and then my furs get thin.  I do not like that.  She always threatens to trim up my furs. I do not know why. I like my pretty furs.

At any rate, it’s raining again today.  I hope we have more sun like we did the other day. I like to lie in the sun.

Meezer Monday

I heard that I was talked about at Blog Paws. I think that is a fine thing, if I couldn’t be there (WOMAN!).  The question that came up was how to pronounce my name.

Well, here’s the thing.

I’m not telling.

I’m named after a fantasy novel series by Jennifer Roberson. The Woman saw them in the bookstore but hadn’t read them. I was named by my breeder.   She named me Cheysuli, after the Chronicles of the Cheysuli.   The Cheysuli are a human/catlike race.   The books are older but usually available through libraries.

The Woman has always said my name Chay SUE Lee, where the ch is hard like in cheese (do you love me now Cory?!).  She can’t verify that that is really how it is pronounced but it made sense to her.
