Find Chey Friday

Well I wanted to do something a little bit easier seeing no found me last time. I hope I haven’t completely given it away as to where I am… The more accurate you are the better but I bet everyone can make a guess.

Thankful Thursday

We are quite thankful for all the cards we have received. 10 of those cards are for us. The one that is towards the far side of the cat cards (I’m sure you recognize your friends) is a friend of Momma’s who isn’t really a pet person but his significant other has Schnauzers, so you will notice who is featured on that card… so we consider him an honorary almost for us card.

I’m just so happy I am more popular than my human!!!

Wisdom on Wednesday

Opposable thumbs: nature’s way of leveling the playing field.

Now I’m going to consider what I can do to minimize the impact of those opposable thumbs through my vastly superior intelligence…

Tabby Tuesday and Tongue Tuesday

Sometimes it is fun to wash your paw upside down.

It is especially good if it is cold and you are in the sun.

Memory Meezer Monday

We lost so many friends last week that we thought today would be a good day to honor the Siamese who came before, Simone.

The Woman had just lost another cat to an unusual disease. She was working at the vet and saw these big old 20 plus year old Siamese mix males and she wanted a cat like that. So she started talking to clients. One called with a Siamese rescue. It turned out to be Simone.

Simone was nothing like those big males. She was a petite little Siamese and probably a blue or lilac point. She was certainly not show quality but had probably been a purebred pet quality cat. The people who brought her in had driven about an hour and the Woman hated to send them back so she took Simone even though she wasn’t the cat she had hoped for.

The first day Simone hid under the bed, not being sure about the Iggy cat. However, late in the night, the Woman woke up and Simone was curled in a tight little ball on the far side of the bed. The Woman said, “Well Hello.” Simone woke up and came over and immediately settled down on the Woman’s arm. From that night on, she always slept on the Woman.

She was a six year old cat when she came to the Woman and she was about 16 when she died of liver failure. She walked on a leash. She played fetch. She loved to play chase with the Woman. She would chase the Iggy Cat sometimes. When she and Iggy lived alone with the Woman, Iggy had to go to the vet and stay overnight. Simone was inconsolable. When Ig came home, she smelled him once, swatted him across the face and turned away to wander away. Ig looked annoyed.

Simone and Georgia only ever tolerated each other but they got along okay so long as Georgia could go outside.

Simone had acted weird for about six months before she died. She and the Woman had visited the vet many times but they never knew what was wrong. They started making the Woman feel she and Simone were neurotic. A week after Iggy died, Simone was bright yellow. She died from liver failure (helped to bridge) just ten days after Iggy died, following her beloved orange cat to the Bridge.

The Woman was terribly upset because she felt she had failed Simone in not getting her the help she needed. Liver failure is very painful and Simone has suffered stoicly. We think Iggy heard her and sent Gemini to take her mind of that. About five months later, I, Cheysuli, was offered for adoption and the Woman drove 300 miles to go and pick me up for the cost of my spay. And the rest is history. I guess I do need to thank Simone for being such a cuddle muffin that the Woman had to have another Siamese.

Sunday Guest Star

Wow. I didn’t think this would be that hard of a photo. And I am sure the cats who sent it to me did not think it would be either…

So where did I go? I am:

Cable car to the top of Montmorency Falls which are 6 or 7 miles from Quebec City. They face the Ile d’Orleans.

And who sent the photo? Well here they are in this photo. Who has such lovely cute toes like this? Well, of course it is our friends Eric and Flynn! Yes, their human was here on vacation, though I don’t think they hung from the cable like I did… I suspect they were able to just get on one of the cars.

The Meezer’s suggested:

you are cheyzilla and you are trying to flick those little boxes (of people?) into the river so what ever is in there will meet an untimely death.

oh, you wanted to know WHERE you were. We have no clue at all. then again, we never do. about anything really.

I wasn’t really trying that but it sure sounds like fun…

Daisy said:

I think I saw that episode on the Amazing Race!

But Daisy you didn’t remember WHERE I was. And here I bet this WAS on the Amazing Race at least in one season or another…

Max, of course has the most insightful comment:

Whoa…the least they coulda done is let you ride in the car thingies instead of making you inch your way across on the wire. That could ruin a kitty’s pawdicure really fast!

Indeed it could…

And for that, I’ll have to go look for an easier one for next week!

Find Chey Friday

Chey is lost again!Wow! These Friday travels are getting dangerous. I mean who would have thought that little wire would move? I just wanted to check out the little carrier thing.. really. Wouldn’t you?

So where am I? And where am I going? I hope I’m not in trouble AGAIN for playing. I hate that.

Thankful Thursday

I am ever so thankful this Thursday because I have a good home. There are so many kitties who don’t have good homes and they have to fend for themselves on the streets.

Miss Peach was kind enough to pass on some information about a Spay/Neuter Bill in Washington State that we would like to let people know about. If you live in Washington, please let your congress person know you support this.

We would like to thank Miss Peach for telling us about this. We would also like to thank the Cats at the Cat Blogosphere who keep us informed of important information (like our friend Skeeter going to the Bridge–our purrs to his family and also to Kelly Cat‘s family as Kelly crossed the Bridge Wednesday too.  What a day!).  We’re also thankful for Jan’s Funny Farm because she keeps up to date on many important things going on in the pet world.

Meezer Rule Wednesday

My Meezer Rule: Always check out your business prospects thoroughly.

From the Cat Post Intelligencer:

Presidential Candidate Cheysuli is being investigated following opening a nap coaching business. While coaches are not strictly licensed through the states, Cheysuli failed to file a business license with the state of Washington for her business.

“There will be a formal investigation,” stated one unnamed source in Olympia. “While she has yet to earn any money from this, she has opened a business and advertised without obtaining a business licenses. Fines rub in the hundreds of dollars for this and then there is the issue of back taxes. However, if she really hasn’t earned anything, and we will be checking carefully, she won’t owe anything except the fines.”

Cats in Washington are outraged claiming that Cheysuli has been singled out because of her high profile. “How many other businesses are out there doing business, earning less than $600 a year and aren’t required to have a license?” stated one cat.

Cheysuli was not available for comment. Rumor has it she continues to practice up on her napping for nap coaching.

Tabby Tuesday

My Dad entered me in Kitten Wars way back when I was a baby cat. I have been on there a very long time. He didn’t even have a good photo of me. This one has my eyes all lazer like. However I have won and lost about the same number of wars.

He wanted me to show off my link, so I am doing so. If you see me on Kitten Wars, vote for me okay? I would like to be a winner instead of average!

Now I am taking lessons from Cheysuli on napping.
